Description of the job

A vacancy for an ATA 27 (FCS) and ATA 22 (AFCS) and ATA34 (FMS) Design, Development and Certification Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space.
The successful applicant will join the TEAYC-TL2 department.
In the context of the military aircraft programmes, such as Medium&Light transport aircrafts, Airbus Military Derivatives, Combat aircraft and UAVs, the applicant will be in charge of carrying out flight controls design activities, development tasks and support, system integration, testing, qualification and verification & validation activities, and certification tasks, in particular to manage the compliance demonstration activities for ATA27 and 22 &34, including Flight Control Systems and Autopilot and Flight Management System.
Additionally, the applicant’s mission will be cover the complete life cycle of the products, supporting production and manufacturing, customer acceptance and services support as well.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main activities will include:

Capturing overall systems requirements
Defining technical systems requirements
Elaborating systems architectures according to alternative solutions and functions criticity
Allocating functions and requirements and performance and integrity level for the subsystems and equipment
Systems, subsystems and equipment specifications preparation, including requirements validation
Ensuring development process, supporting suppliers along all the development and manufacturing process
Defining system integration requirements and interfaces, and installation and adjustment procedures
Defining test procedures, test execution and test analysis and reports preparation, for development and lab tests, rig /simulation tests, ground test, and flight tests.
Elaborating relevant documentation for certification purposes
Providing in service tasks and ensuring continued airworthiness
Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Educated to degree level in Engineering
The candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
At least 5 years of proven experience in systems engineering,
Aeronautical engineering degree (or equivalent 5-year degree in system engineering),
Good knowledge of flight control system, autopilot, flight mechanics, flight management and navigation/avionics systems, as well as safety,
Knowledge of systems, software and complex electronic hardware development standards,
Knowledge of aerospace regulations (CS/FAR, E/TSO) and standards (DO, ED, ARP, ARINC, etc),
Ability to work in a team, team spirit,
Good capacity of adaptation,
Proactivity to solve issues,
Communication skills
Negotiation level of English
